Ingredients

  • 2 lb mussels
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 white onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp drained capers
  • 3/4 cup dry white wine
  • 1 jar Sauz Summer Lemon Marinara
  • 2 tbsp thinly sliced fresh basil
  • Crusty bread, for dipping

Instructions:
  1. Clean mussels thoroughly to remove any debris or barnacles. Ensure that mussels are shut tightly, and discard any mussels that are opened.
  2. Heat oil in large sauce pot or Dutch oven set over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, and capers, and cook, stirring, for 3 to 5 minutes or until tender and fragrant.
  3. Add wine and bring to a boil. Stir in Sauz Summer Lemon Marinara; reduce heat and bring to a simmer. Add mussels and stir until coated. Cover and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, or until mussels have fully opened. Discard any mussels that have stayed closed.
  4. Sprinkle with basil and serve with crust bread while still fresh and warm.
